This page is intended to overcome the disfunctionality of the Cohousing-L archive's "Date" links (from message pages). The "Date" links on message pages should display the index line for the current message on the index page where it resides. This does not generally work due to factors mentioned in the "Problem summary" section below. _
Note that the links on this page also deteriorate over time also but since this page is updated more often so they come much closer. When a link is "no longer fully functional", it will link to an index page with somewhat newer messages and not go to the first Jan / Jun messages. But this will be close - use the -> arrow link to get to the index page of desired time range - see below.
I now have a spreadsheet that regenerates the links after updating the most recent message number so I hope to update this monthly or so.
PROBLEM SUMMARY
The URLs of Date Index pages for a given set of messages change over time as new messages are added. The most recent messages are on the first index page, then next most recent 200 messages are listed on the 2nd Date Index page. Thus as new messages are added the number of the Index page a given message is listed on increases... The URLS used in Message page "Date" links dont get updated very often - they are basically unchanging. The links are static, the urls are dynamic. The links on this page are also static but updated much more often.
Memory device for those arrows.
Imagine a book with INDEXES to newest messages in the front starting at page 1.
A seperate book has the actual messages with the newest messages at the end.
<– goes toward the cover / front of the books.
